In God's faithfulness, the Working Committee of ACU has formed.
What can be said, "But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, You are my God." (Psa 31:14)
For over one and a half years we have prayed that God would raise up those Africans whom He would call to help direct the establishment of African Christian University. Initially, we thought that would be in Mozambique, but as we daily prayed and time progressed from weeks, to months, to over a year, God eventually opened the doors to Zambia and we have come to understand why.
Monday night, April 27, 2009, as the now formed Working Committee of ACU gathered around a conference table in the Lusaka law offices of Nchima Nchito, the committee chairman, a well-known and highly respected lawyer, the full realization of what was happening struck. God had answered every prayer that had been prayed for the perfectly equipped team, with all of the necessary gifts and expertise to accomplish the immense task before us. While we anticipated the answer to the multitude of prayers to come as person-by-person would be called out to assist us, God had been preparing these servants for His kingdom work in the Reformed Baptist Churches of Lusaka, preparing them for a work that none of them were aware was coming, but for which He would call them out together into His service for His purpose as a working team. Looking around the table, listening to the questions, responses and issues being discussed, it was overwhelmingly evident that this godly, fully equipped, and highly educated and motivated team was ideal to pursue the work being discussed: taking a vision for the gospel-focused education of ACU and forming it into an operating, brick-and-mortar campus where lives will be transformed through the work of the Holy Spirit in holistically developing a biblical worldview in students of all disciplines of study from anthropology to zoology to God's glory.
The Working Team that will initiate the development of ACU in Lusaka, Zambia includes these individuals assisting in the following areas:
Academics: Dr. Amos Banda and Dr. Sakufiwa
Business: Mr. Ivor Chilufya
Buildings/Lands: Mr. Logan Nyasulu
Administration: Mr. Nchima Nchito (Chairman)
Accounts: Mrs. Patricia Kumwenda (Treasurer)
Advisors: Dr. Nkhoma, Col. Moses Phiri, Mr. John Chundu (Secretary) and Pr. Isaac Makashini.
We have seen God's faithfulness in calling out His laborers for working His fields. We humbly request your faithful prayers for each of us as we seek His kingdom and His righteousness in bringing the vision for ACU to fully display God's glory according to His will. |
